There are many ways to do quilt-as-you-go (QAYG).
This video demonstrates 2 different quilt blocks made with this technique.
Choose the one that suits you best 🙂
Learn 2 Quilt-as-you-go blocks
These two techniques are great ways to use all your fabric scraps.
Would you like to try these techniques with some beautiful projects?
I received a copy of Quilt-as-you-go made modern by Jera Brandvig.
While I have tried some of the QAYG techniques before – see video below – the book is very thorough and detailed. Jera not only describes the technique but she also offers alternatives to the basic block by block quilting.
The book also has lots of diagrams that make it particularly easy to follow the patterns.
To top it all up you get to try the techniques in 13 different projects.

Order my book Turnabout Patchwork
“Turnabout Patchwork. Simple quilts with a twist” is all about playing with blocks – making a block, slicing it up, and turning or repositioning the pieces to make a completely different block (sometimes two smaller blocks) to yield endless quilt tops.
