3 Quilt as you go techniques

3 Quilt-as-you-go techniques video tutorial

There are many ways to do quilt-as-you-go (QAYG).

This tutorial demonstrates how to join two blocks without sashing and with two types of sashing. One the techniques is finished by hand and the other two are machine stitched 100%.

Choose the one that suits you best 🙂

Quilt as you go made modern

I received a copy of Quilt-as-you-go made modern by Jera Brandvig.

While I have tried some of the QAYG techniques before – see video below – the book is very thorough  and detailed. Jera not only describes the technique but she also offers alternatives to the basic block by block quilting.

The book also has lots of diagrams that make it particularly easy to follow the patterns.

To top it all up you get to try the techniques in 13 different projects.

Order my book Turnabout Patchwork

“Turnabout Patchwork. Simple quilts with a twist” is all about playing with blocks – making a block, slicing it up, and turning or repositioning the pieces to make a completely different block (sometimes two smaller blocks) to yield endless quilt tops.
