My book Turnabout Patchwork

“Turnabout Patchwork. Simple quilts with a twist” is all about playing with blocks – making a block, slicing it up, and turning or repositioning the pieces to make a completely different block (sometimes two smaller blocks) to yield endless quilt tops.

This tutorial is for a paper piecing block. Regular templates are also available below.

This is the perfect block to start paper piecing and make blocks with perfect points with no effort.

I use printing paper but you can use phone book paper or any other paper you have available. The thinner the better.

Use a shorter stitch setting so it’s easier to remove the paper at the end.
