Who doesn’t need a pincushion? you don’t need one? I’m sure your sewist friend does!
So what about making these cuties?
For this project you need:
- small fabric scraps big enough to cover each individual piece and have at least 1/4 in around each of them, including the outer edges.
- polyfill or batting scraps for the filling
- regular copy paper or alternatively you can use special foundation piecing paper which is lightweight and tears easily
If you’re not familiar with foundation paper piecing this tutorial will introduce you to an easy block so you learn the technique.
This is the second block on the pattern sheet.
Nice project and instructions! I think I will make one for my niece a pincushion from the scraps from the quilt I gave her that was her grandmother’s (my mom’s). The quilt has lavender lilacs on it and they just lost most of their lovely old lilacs in a freak snow storm in April.
