Adding sashing to a quilt is very straightforward. Cut your strips and add them between blocks and then between rows.
I’m demonstrating this using my quilt Mysteries Down Under.

My book Turnabout Patchwork
“Turnabout Patchwork. Simple quilts with a twist” is all about playing with blocks – making a block, slicing it up, and turning or repositioning the pieces to make a completely different block (sometimes two smaller blocks) to yield endless quilt tops.

THAT is one beautiful quilt!!!…….I have some trouble accurately lining up the blocks with the one’s above, but these methods certainly help. Thank you Teresa, hope you are well and warm, Elizabeth .

Oh my goodness! It never crossed my mind that it only takes a few simple steps to beautify our quilt by adding sashing to it. My husband’s aunt has been thinking of making her own quilt so she could use it as her bedroom decoration. I’ll surely send this article to her so she could complete her work decently.
