Half square triangles or HSTs are the foundation for many blocks. You can see many different ones on the video.
HSTs can be made in many different ways. The techniques I demonstrate make 2 HSTs at once using 2 squares of contrasting fabrics and 8 half square triangles at once.
The 8 at once method sheds units with bias seams. Some quilters don’t like bias seams because they can be stretchy.

Order my book Turnabout Patchwork
“Turnabout Patchwork. Simple quilts with a twist” is all about playing with blocks – making a block, slicing it up, and turning or repositioning the pieces to make a completely different block (sometimes two smaller blocks) to yield endless quilt tops.
