Sandra, just sew the piece in two halves and then sew the halves together.

Or you can choose to sew in three rows at an angle, always without Y seams

I’ve tried this, but when I sew it together the final seams don’t match up. I’ll try to send a photo.

Yes please. Tried it twice – once with 2.5″ strips from a jelly roll, second with 2″ strips. Same result.

Just done this block but the block not lay flat, is raised in the centre.

I often press the seams open to avoid bulky areas. I also use steam to help making it flatter.

Yes, thanks I may try that.

I have watched your tutorial on the 60` triangle. I have tried several times to put the pieces together and can not get my center seams to match up. Could you tell me when I can find a video or a pattern showing how to join the triangles to make the placemats

You certainly can. You can make a number of 8s so to speak and sew just in halves. Then put them in rows. The 8s will be laying across 2 rows if you know what I mean. Sew the halves into rows again. And then sew the rows together. I hope this makes sense.
