The Curved Log Cabin block puts a fresh spin on the traditional log cabin design. Instead of straight seams and sharp angles, gentle curves create movement and a softer, flowing look across the block.
It has all the charm of a classic quilt block but with a modern feel that adds texture and interest without becoming overly complicated.
A great choice for showing off colour placement and creating eye-catching quilts with a bit of movement and personality.
The Lollipops quilt is a practical example of how this block can shine in a full quilt design.
The quilt is a fun celebration of colour and simplicity, with nine bright circles popping against a crisp white background to create a playful lollipop effect. The clean layout keeps the focus on the fabrics, making it a fresh and cheerful project that works beautifully with scraps, bold prints, or coordinated colours.

The arrangement of log cabin blocks is what gives this quilt its unique circular look, and that’s why I named it “Lollipops.”
Note: I opted for crumb quilting for the backing but no directions are given on the pattern. You can learn to do crumb quilting with my video.
