This is a very simple border to make but it’ll look great on any quilt.
Let’s learn.
Finished border width
Height: 2″.
Cutting directions
- 2 strips, 2″ x width of fabric (WOF) in colour A
- 1 strip, 1 1/2″ x WOF in colour B
My book Turnabout Patchwork
“Turnabout Patchwork. Simple quilts with a twist” is all about playing with blocks – making a block, slicing it up, and turning or repositioning the pieces to make a completely different block (sometimes two smaller blocks) to yield endless quilt tops.
- Order Turnabout Patchwork on Amazon
- Order Turnabout Patchwork directly from Martingale (e-book only)

Sometimes I don’t have enough of any one fabric to put a border on the quilt I am making at the time. This is a great sollution and a good way to use up scrap pieces too.
