It’s ok to finish small pieces such as coasters, wall hangings and the like without binding.
What to make with these?
Some ideas come to mind such as fridge magnets or brooches and also coasters.
Mini quilts or wall hanging quilts or even a small baby quilt with the 4″ block is another idea.

Fridge magnets
This is the type of fridge magnet I used. Some are self adhesive and some are not.
Glue
Use a strong permanent fabric glue:
Butterfly pin backs
If you prefer to use the block as a brooch, butterfly pin backs are perfect for it:
Safety pins
I’ve also used this type of safety pin for brooches. If you don’t like using glue this is something else you can use:
