12″ King’s crown variation quilt block video tutorial

This is a king’s crown block.
I did a demo of this same block a while ago but this time I’m using different colour placement to demonstrate how different the design is once you move prints around.

Cutting instructions

In the white cut:

  •  1 squares, 7 1/4” x 7 1/4”

In dark floral fabric cut:

  •  4 squares, 3 7/8” x 3 7/8”

In light blue cut:

  • 1 square, 6 1/2” x 6 1/2”

In white cut:

  • 4 squares 3 1/2” x 3 1/2”

Finished size

12″ x 12″.

My book Turnabout Patchwork

“Turnabout Patchwork. Simple quilts with a twist” is all about playing with blocks – making a block, slicing it up, and turning or repositioning the pieces to make a completely different block (sometimes two smaller blocks) to yield endless quilt tops.
