12″ King’s crown quilt block video tutorial

This block is a classic.

This 12″ version is quick and easy to make. Use high contrasting fabrics for better results.

I’ll post another tutorial later on that shows how the block is very different just by changing the colour value. Stay tuned.

Cutting instructions

In the light blue print cut:

  •  1 squares, 7 1/4” x 7 1/4”

In the background fabric cut:

  •  4 squares, 3 7/8” x 3 7/8”

In black floral cut:

  • 1 square, 6 1/2” x 6 1/2”

In red cut:

  • 4 squares 3 1/2” x 3 1/2”

Finished size

12″ x 12″.

My book Turnabout Patchwork

“Turnabout Patchwork. Simple quilts with a twist” is all about playing with blocks – making a block, slicing it up, and turning or repositioning the pieces to make a completely different block (sometimes two smaller blocks) to yield endless quilt tops.
