This block belongs to my book Turnabout Patchwork: Simple quilts with a Twist.
I came across the block and its variations through experimentation.
The pieces that make up the block have many bias seams. If you don’t like sewing with bias seams this block isn’t for you.
I personally find that if the pieces are small, like in this case, handling them presents no issues.
The block is made out of 2 squares of fabric. Yes, just 2 squares of fabric in contrasting fabrics.

Swirl quilt pattern
This is one of the quilts from my book Turnabout patchwork using this variation of this block Sarah Myers from the Quilted Diary made.
The pattern is one of 23 quilt patterns in my book “Turnabout Patchwork. Simple quilts with a twist“. The book is all about playing with blocks – making a block, slicing it up, and turning or repositioning the pieces to make a completely different block (sometimes two smaller blocks) to yield endless quilt tops.
