Well, here it is another EPP project you may enjoy making.
The shapes are larger than the previous ones I’ve made.
Let’s do a heart quilt
Download the EPP hearts shape
- Download Jewel shape – 1 1/2″ (pdf)
Printing the shapes
I recommend printing these shapes on thick card stock for better results.
Fabric collections
I used two beautiful Michael Miller collections:
- Marble metallic in Aubergine, Grape
- Strata in assorted colours
My book Turnabout Patchwork
“Turnabout Patchwork. Simple quilts with a twist” is all about playing with blocks – making a block, slicing it up, and turning or repositioning the pieces to make a completely different block (sometimes two smaller blocks) to yield endless quilt tops.
- Order Turnabout Patchwork on Amazon
- Order Turnabout Patchwork directly from Martingale (e-book only)
See all the quilts in the book in a real life project

Love this! Give me an idea on how you would finish the edges please.

Hi Diane, you can use half hearts and the trimming off excess areas

How would you use the half heart for the edge and not lose the points when adding a boarder or binding

The half hearts won’t work in all instances of course. You’ll have to trim some hearts. The other option is to appliqué the piece to a border all around.

What size fabric do you use for the epp patterns

I’m betwixt and between on figuring my math… how many heart shapes (full heart) does it take to make perhaps a 70×70 quilt?

My guess is as good as yours 😊
