Video tutorial: Hidden wells technique – two blocks with 3, 4, 5, and 7 strips

This technique was developed by Mary Ellen Hopkins in 1989 for her Hidden wells quilt. It can be done with a different number of strips in different or equal widths.

Here’s a compilation with blocks made with 3, 4, 5 and 7 strips.

My book Turnabout Patchwork

“Turnabout Patchwork. Simple quilts with a twist” is all about playing with blocks – making a block, slicing it up, and turning or repositioning the pieces to make a completely different block (sometimes two smaller blocks) to yield endless quilt tops.

You can order on Amazon. It starts shipping on 17 December.

Or on Bookdepository and get it delivered for free.
