“I have made many Hidden Wells quilts with the pattern given years ago by Red Dawn. It was so important to keep everything labeled and then sew together correctly. Your take on the process sure has simplified things. I went one step further and used striped material instead of making my own stratas”. I think I like that version best. Hi Linda, Hidden wells is a great quilt. Using precut fabrics would make it easier I agree.

I’m trying to make sure I understand something that I didn’t find to be in the instructions: After you sew the two 10″ squares together and cut into triangles, you then press open those triangles to make the four smaller blocks that you trim?

Laura, after you place both squares right side facing together you sew all around the squares with 1/4″ seam allowance. Then cut into the diagonals to make 4 half square triangles.

Thank you Teresa, for the clarification. When I first saw the step of sewing all around the block, I thought, “How are you going to turn it?” Then I figured it out. Thanks again; I will be starting on this project very soon because I have WAY more than my fair share of jelly rolls.
