I came across this technique many years ago. It’s called “tube quilting”.
Making blocks for this quilt goes very quickly. You can make a quilt in no time using this technique.

The pattern contains instruction to make just the quilt top including fabric needs and colouring diagrams.

My book Turnabout Patchwork
“Turnabout Patchwork. Simple quilts with a twist” is all about playing with blocks – making a block, slicing it up, and turning or repositioning the pieces to make a completely different block (sometimes two smaller blocks) to yield endless quilt tops.
Buy individual chapters of my book
Now that my publisher is going out of business I have bought the rights to publish my book. Now you can download individual chapters. Each digital download is a bundle with 4 quilt patterns in it.
As well as the instructions and fabric needs to make the blocks you’ll find a section on quiltmaking basics at the end of the pattern that discusses:
- Tools
- Squaring up blocks
- Borders
- Assembly and quilting
- Binding

Why can’t print off this pattern
I only have a desk top so to be able to follow where the sewing machine is would be nice.

My mistake on the post title. It’s a mini pattern rather than a mini quilt pattern.

WOW! That’s a very cool way to make that quilt. Thanks so much for the easy pattern. As always you amaze me with your ability to take a somewhat difficult pattern and make it so simple and easy! Keep up the good work! Jean
