Whirlwind quilt block video tutorial

This block is made with just 2 strips of fabric.

Use highly contrasting fabrics for best results. Some very bright fabrics like the ones I used by Michael Miller would make a wonderful quilt for a young one.

I hope you like it.

My book Turnabout Patchwork

“Turnabout Patchwork. Simple quilts with a twist” is all about playing with blocks – making a block, slicing it up, and turning or repositioning the pieces to make a completely different block (sometimes two smaller blocks) to yield endless quilt tops.

Still 3 more blocks yes!

And this lot includes a star, an all time favourite Sawtooth star.

All blocks are 6″ x 6″ so you can even put them all together into a mini quilt or a lap quilt or something.

Have fun!

Disappearing four patch quilt block video tutorial

Today I’m back at making another disappearing quilt block. This one is a less known disappearing four patch.

If you’re worried about matching corners – disappearing methods can be not so accurate- you can then add sashing between blocks.

I used Haerae Designs Studio 100% GOTS certified organic cotton printed with low impact dyes. I love the beautiful fabrics by this fabric manufacturer.

Black peaks video tutorial

Today we’re making a modern block that has many possibilities. And I’ve chosen a black and white colour scheme because it’s always a great combination.

This will also work well with white and red, pink and green, black and red, even a red and green Christmas combination.

Enjoy!
