Bow Tie is another block in my beginner quilting series, and it’s one of those blocks that proves simple doesn’t mean boring.
It’s quick to cut, easy to sew, and perfect if you’re just starting out — but it also has plenty of design potential. By changing fabric placement or rotating the blocks, you can create a range of quilt layouts, from clean and classic to bold and modern. It’s a great block for using up scraps, playing with contrast, or building a strong repeat pattern across a quilt.
In this video tutorial, I walk you through the construction step by step, with clear cutting instructions and sewing tips to help you get neat, accurate results.
Tier 2 and Tier 3 Patreon subscribers can download a free block companion to make a quilt with this block.
