You’ve probably spotted some amazing English Paper Piecing (EPP) quilts made with hexies, but have you thought about making those hexies with two fabric strips?
This fun technique not only gives your quilt some serious depth and flair but also opens up a world of creative color combos and patterns.
By mixing up your fabrics, you can create a super eye-catching look that really showcases the intricate design of each hexagon, turning your quilting project into a total masterpiece.
Download the templates
- Download the hexagon template (Google Doc).
Print the 1 inch templates on thick or plain paper.
Thick card stock is highly recommended in this scenario, as it preserves its shape more effectively while managing seams, resulting in a smoother and more efficient sewing process.
Cut the templates and get sewing.
Two important points to consider are:
- Ensure the printer settings are adjusted to 100% before printing to prevent any unexpected results.
- Leave the paper template in until you have finished sewing all hexies together
