How to make two scrappy quilt blocks

Today we’ll be making 2 scrappy quilt blocks: a heart and a flower.

At the end of the video you’ll see a variety of quilt layouts with these bocks.

Scrappy heart block

Finished block

6″ x 6″.

Cutting directions

For 2 blocks cut:

  • 2 squares, 4″ x 4″ in red fabric
  • 2 squares, 4″ x 4″ in the background fabric
  • 4 squares, 3 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ in red fabric
  • 8 squares, 1 1/4″ x 1 1/4″ in the background fabric

Pansy quilt block

Cutting directions

  • Cut 4 squares, 3 1/2″x 3 1/2″ in 4 different prints
  • Cut 4 squares, 3 1/2″x 3 1/2″ in the background fabric
  • Cut 4 squares, 3″ x 3″ in each of the pink prints
  • Cut 4 squares, 3″ x 3″ in the background fabric
  • Cut 4 squares, 3″ x 3″ for the corners in green
  • Cut 1 square, 3″ x 3″ for the centre

Finished size

12 1/2″ x 12 1/2″
