Have you tried to invert the front and background of a quilt block? That’s exactly what I’ll do on this star block.
I made the block scrappy but it can also be made in 2 colours, one for the star and one for the background.
Fabric needs
- 8 squares, 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ in white
- 1 square, 4 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ in white
- 8 squares, 4 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ in assorted prints
Finished block size
12″ x 12″
My book Turnabout Patchwork
“Turnabout Patchwork. Simple quilts with a twist” is all about playing with blocks – making a block, slicing it up, and turning or repositioning the pieces to make a completely different block (sometimes two smaller blocks) to yield endless quilt tops.
- Order Turnabout Patchwork on Amazon
- Order Turnabout Patchwork directly from Martingale (e-book only)
