Shoofly is a traditional quilt block. But what if you slice it? You get at least 4 different variations of this block that don’t look anything like a shoofly but that make beautiful quilt layouts.

About the pattern
This pattern has instructions to make 4 quilts using 4 variations of a disappearing shoofly quilt block. Each block layout makes a very different quilt.
The pattern uses quick cutting techniques that make this quilt really quick and easy to make even for a beginner.
Skill level: beginner.
Quilt sizes: crib, lap, twin and queen.
Finished block size: 11 ½”.
Quilt style: traditional piecing.
Charm squares and fat quarter friendly.
You can use the colouring pages at the end to choose the colour scheme.
Quilting: I quilted this quilt using free-motion.
In the 14 page pattern I have included lots of diagrams and written instructions as well as links to 1 of my video tutorials that demonstrate how to make the blocks.
Also in the pattern you will find colouring pages that you can use to decide on a colour scheme for the quilt.
I love and appreciate all the work you do for us. I don’t think that you can even come close to knowing how many lives you have changed with the knowledge that you pass along freely to us. I always stop to watch and save everything you do. I chuckled when I saw the fabric manipulation ‘cuz I had already scooped up all I could off the net about a year ago for insertion into some of my quilts as a quilt block ( think a heavy lusterous white cotton, for a ‘ touch & feel ‘ patch).

Hi Karon, thank you for your kind words. I love fabric manipulations too. They add great interest to any sewing I think 🙂
