Let’s call this block and quilt XOXO. It’s one of the blocks I made for my Road to Tennessee block post.
This is a beginner block and quilt. Use your favourite pinks to make this quilt for Valentines’s Day.
How to make this versatile block
To make each XOXO block like the one below you need to make 16 pieces (and 144 pieces in total for the full quilt).
Block size: 18 1/2 inch square, including 1/4 seam allowance.
Number of blocks on this quilt: 9 (144 individual pieces).
Quilt size: approximately 55 inch square.
Fabric needs:
- 1 1/4 yards in pinks
- 1 1/4 yards in greys
- 1 5/8 yards of white fabric
Quilt binding with faux piping
I’ve fallen in love with machine binding with faux piping. Choose grey tones for the main binding fabric and a bright pink for the flange or faux piping. This is how you make it:
