How to make a scrappy half and half square triangle (HST) block
Tip
While I chose to use solids for the strips of fabric, this block may work better with scrappy print fabrics where the strips may not be so obviously mismatched on some of the quilt designs.
Materials
- Ten 10 inch x 1 1/2 inch strips in assorted prints or colours (the scrappier the better)
- One 10 inch square piece of fabric
Block pieces
The tutorial produces the next 4 pieces that can be assembled into different layouts to make different quilt designs:

You can arrange the four pieces in very different layouts to make a quilt.
