My crates are square and they are 11 in H x 14 in W.
I used the calculations in the how to make a crate slipcover (pdf) tutorial to obtain the following measurements:
- Side A and C: 28 3/4 inch
- Side B: 9 inch
- Side D: 21 1/4 inch
- Side E and F: 6 1/4 inch
So I cut 4 rectangles as follows:
- 2 pieces measuring 9 inch x 28 3/4 in the pattern fabric.
- 2 pieces measuring 28 3/4 x 21 1/4 in calico.
Sewn Up 
I love this project . no more naked crates on my closet shelves.
