About me

I grew up in Spain and learned knitting, crochet, and embroidery from my talented mother, who was skilled in sewing and lace-making.

For years I juggled a regular job while building an online platform dedicated to sharing my passion for quilting and making it accessible to all.

I’ve also contributed to many publications and share my ideas and techniques on this website and my popular YouTube channel, TeresaDownUnder. In addition to my YouTube channel, on May 2023 I started publishing exclusive quilting video tutorials on Patreon.

Crafting is my sanctuary, providing balance to my life. I find joy in spending my free time sewing and designing, although I often have more crafting ideas in my head than I’ll ever have time to bring to life.

I’m also the author of the book “Turnabout Patchwork: Simple Quilts with a Twist,” which explores the art of creating unique quilt tops by playing with quilt blocks, slicing them up, and repositioning the pieces to craft entirely new designs.

When I’m not sewing, you can find me engaging in various creative pursuits, such as drawing, painting, sculpting, embroidering, or felting.

My tools

Last but not least, you often ask what sewing machine, or ruler, or whatever tool I use.

You can see here a list of the quilting tools you can see on my videos.

When I’m not sewing I can be found drawing, painting, sculpting, embroidering or felting.

I love feedback so please feel free to comment on any of my posts and offer as many suggestions and ideas as you like.
