Lately I’ve been getting into tiny quilting if you can call it that.
This time I’ve made 2″ X 2” quilted brooches.
Let’s get to it!
How to make a finished 2″ x 2″ quilted brooch
Foundation piecing paper
I used regular copy paper but you may find it to be a bit thick.
You can use special paper for foundation piecing if you prefer.
Foundation paper ruler
Note: I recently started to use an Add a quarter ruler, the yellow ruler in the video, after some followers recommended it and I have to say it’s a true time saver.

My book Turnabout Patchwork
“Turnabout Patchwork. Simple quilts with a twist” is all about playing with blocks – making a block, slicing it up, and turning or repositioning the pieces to make a completely different block (sometimes two smaller blocks) to yield endless quilt tops.
Buy individual chapters of my book
Now that my publisher is going out of business I have bought the rights to publish my book. Now you can download individual chapters. Each digital download is a bundle with 4 quilt patterns in it.
As well as the instructions and fabric needs to make the blocks you’ll find a section on quiltmaking basics at the end of the pattern that discusses:
- Tools
- Squaring up blocks
- Borders
- Assembly and quilting
- Binding

Dear Theresa, what a great idea especially with Christmas approaching. Theyâd make great little gifts. Have you ever thought of doing any minis using Australian images? Iâve been card making and using Australiana is all the rage at the moment. Some minis with koalas or eucalypt or old huts would make great decoration as a key ring holder. Just an idea.. Thanks for the free download. Marcia
