No-sashing quilt-as-you-go method

QAYG without sashing

My favorite Quilt-as-You-Go method is one that skips the sashing, and I absolutely love it!

This approach is not only straightforward but also incredibly satisfying, especially since I enjoy hand sewing. There’s something special about feeling the fabric in my hands and stitching each piece together with care.

Even if hand sewing isn’t your thing, I believe this method is still a great choice. It can be much more enjoyable than wrestling with a larger quilt on a domestic sewing machine. Many quilters find that working on smaller sections allows for a less daunting experience. Plus, you can easily pick it up and put it down whenever you have a spare moment.

Overall, the no-sashing Quilt-as-You-Go technique brings a charming, relaxed vibe to quilting. It lets you focus on the joy of creating beautiful patterns without the stress of complicated setups.
