The log cabin block is a timeless classic, and I particularly enjoy creating the smaller version using tiny strips.
Finished block size
The finished size of this block is 3″ x 3″.
Foundation piecing video
This video will guide you through the process of making the block using foundation piecing techniques. For smaller sizes, I find that foundation piecing allows for a much more precise block compared to traditional piecing methods. However, if you prefer, traditional templates are also available.
Paper choice
For this project, I used regular copy paper, but keep in mind that in smaller sizes, it can be a bit thick. If you prefer a more suitable option, you can use special paper for foundation piecing.

How to make a 3″ log cabin block
Note: Based on recommendations from my followers, I decided to purchase the Add a quarter ruler, the bright yellow ruler showcased in the video, and I have to say, it has truly been a game changer for saving time.
