How to make a 54-40 or fight inspired block

The “54-40 or Fight” quilt block has a special place in American history. Its name is based on the latitude coordinates 54°40’N, which marked the northern border the United States wanted for the Oregon Territory. This phrase was popularized during James K. Polk’s presidential campaign and represented a strong desire for U.S. expansion.

The block tutorial teaches how to create a block that takes inspiration from the “54-40 or Fight” block, but with a slight difference: the top of the triangle faces the opposite direction. That’s why I use the term “inspired by.”
