How to make a Beg and borrow blockchain

The “Beg and Borrow” quilt block is one of Nancy Cabot’s designs, who is also known as Loretta Leitner Rising, a prominent figure in the world of quilting. This block is part of the Antique Geometric Quilt Designs collection attributed to Nancy Cabot.

I came across this block in my BlockBase software and was intrigued by its simplicity. It’s an ideal choice for getting started with foundation piecing, a technique I always encourage fellow quilters to try. Foundation piecing is straightforward, and the results are consistently excellent.

What I particularly enjoy is using freezer paper that I can print directly onto instead of tracing patterns. This eliminates the tedious tracing step and lets you start sewing right away. Plus, removing the paper is a breeze, and you can reuse it multiple times. What’s not to love about that?

Template

Download the template on Patreon. I’ve included two triangles you can use as templates to cut the triangles. Just cut the fabric roughly. No need to be precise.

This block comes with a Block companion for Patreon Tier 2 and 3.
