Block 2 of the Floracotta Quilt Along! And there’s plenty of time to join and start making this quilt.
The Calico puzzle quilt block is a traditional nine-patch block that has been enjoyed by quilters for many years. This versatile block consists of half-square triangles and squares, making it an excellent choice for beginners who want to practice their half-square triangle skills. With its star-like design created by the placement of half-square triangles in the corners, the Calico Puzzle block adds a touch of elegance to both traditional and modern quilts.
The Calico Puzzle quilt block, introduced in 1930, is a popular choice among quilters due to its simple construction and quick assembly. It can be combined with other nine-patch quilt blocks to create visually appealing designs.
The Calico Puzzle block requires three fabrics: a light one, a medium one, and a dark one. Using different values creates a visually appealing design. You can use prints or solids to make it unique.
To make the Calico puzzle block, we’ll use traditional piecing techniques.
