Cross my heart quilt pattern

Cross my heart is an easy quilt pattern suitable for confident beginners. The quilt is fat quarter friendly.

I made the quilt with Valori Wells collection Murmur.

Valori is such a great designer. The collection has beautiful artwork and the fabrics blend very well together.

The quilt can be traditionally pieced or with foundation piecing.

The video demonstrates how to make the blocks using freezer paper foundation piecing.

  1. I would love to win this fat quarter bundle. Such amazing colours that go so well together … Ideal for a summer quilt to celebrate my retirement. And I might finally have the time to make it ‘at my leisure’ as they say.
    Thanks for the opportunity!

  3. Quite a striking quilt pattern. As for the Murmur range, I have a hankering to start a new quilt by Michelle McKillop, but I would have to see the fabric, pet it, and see if it played well with the others I have piled precariously high on my cutting table before committing….I do so love the planning stage of quilt construction!

  7. I recently learned how to English Paper Piece and have fallen head over heels in love with the technique but little tired of just making hexies. I want to try something a little different! Have wanted to make a sampler for a while and make the blocks with EPP in mind. Thought about trying to make 6-8″ star blocks but use paper templates like you would EPP and hand stitch the star blocks. Then applique the star blocks to a 10-12″ background block. It would give something different to work, still using the EPP technique and keeping the project portable like my other EPP projects. I would love to use this fabric for that project. That’s as always for sharing great projects with us, and love your book. I have one!!!

  13. I would touch it, feel it, hold it, smell it….then dream of what I would do with it for at least a week or so….then I would put it into the cupboard….then if I’m tasked to make a certain quilt I would open my fabric cupboard and with a smile reach for my cross my heart fabric and pattern and would spend a glorious few days in my sewing room….

  33. I’ve been eyeing this fabric and I keep popping onto local quilt store websites and etsy. I’m trying to figure out if I should by this bundle or not 🤷‍♀️ I have so many ideas running in my head for things to do with this particular fabric:

    1. Admire and look gazingly at this fabric for a really long time admiring all the bright colors, pretty birds, and amazing designs. 😍😍😍
    2. Sew up the new By Annie backpack pattern for my daughter to use in the fall when she starts kindergarten. 😢
    3. Join a quilt along… or two that I’ve been thinking about already using this fabric line for 🧐.

If I don’t win I guess I’ll just keep stalking it at local quilt stores and online. 😜

  38. I went to the freespirit website so I could look at the details of the prints. I love the various motifs and textures. I particularly love the bird prints. So I’d need to find a pattern that would show off these beautiful prints. Maybe something with large flying geese? My mind is spinning with ideas, all of them happy!
