Extra instructions

If you prefer printing the sequence you can see it below.

Make a 9 patch block combining 5 colour charm squares with 4 white ones. Use darker tones for the centre square for contrast.

Iron the 9 patch block and cut it in half and then in half again.

Change the resulting smaller blocks around to form a disappearing 9 patch block like below.

Stitch together and iron flat.

Assemble as per photo making sure the small squares in each block face the same way.

“Turnabout Patchwork. Simple quilts with a twist” is all about playing with blocks – making a block, slicing it up, and turning or repositioning the pieces to make a completely different block (sometimes two smaller blocks) to yield endless quilt tops.

  1. I was wondering what are the dimensions of the finished quilt? This looks like something I could do for my first quilting project, but I don’t want something too big. Thanks!

  2. Beautiful quilt 🙂 I have been trying to get the ‘hunky dory’ and ‘botany’ charm packs but can’t find them anywhere. Do you know of anywhere I might be able to get them?
